Since 1965 the AEU has provided information, research assistance and resources for members, staff and elected officers of the union.

As part of the Communications workgroup, our collection of books, journals and multimedia covers educational and industrial issues. Our team is lead by Lynn Vines.

Hot Topics

Staff have put together some information resources, including books, journal articles and useful website links on topics such as activism, league tables, performance pay, etc. Please click here to link through to our Hot Topics page.

Special subject areas

We have built up a unique historical collection of books and journals covering Victorian education and teacher unions from 1872 to the present day. Apart from general education, we have also collected resources on teacher welfare, school leadership and management, national and Victorian curriculum initiatives, social and political issues and women's issues.

Services

As well as lending resources to members, we also produce subject indexes to the AEU News, Department Circulars, a range of external journals and AEU documents, minutes and policies. We can help members with extensive research or answer quick queries. We also support the Union's PD activities with resources and equipment. You might notice us video or audiotaping one of your PD sessions at the AEU for members who are unable to get here.
