Disability services
The AEU represents instructors in day services, program managers, business services officers and employment officers in Victoria.
Our priorities are your priorities: higher salaries, better career opportunities, reduced workload and a significant reduction in the level of contract and casual employment.
Disability workers have never been paid their worth because the skills, experience and qualifications needed in this largely female profession are undervalued. But the successful Equal Pay case fought at Fair Work Australia by unions including the AEU should now see improved pay in social, community and disability services.
Disability services are part of the AEU's TAFE and Adult Provision sector. Greg Barclay is vice president for TAP and Jen Walsh is deputy VP. Our dedicated disability organiser, Kerry Maher, is available by email or on (03) 9417 2822.
