State Schools' Relief
State Schools' Relief is the charity formed by Victorian teachers to support disadvantaged students with school uniform and other clothing needs. The AEU is a proud supporter of State Schools' Relief.
Set up in the Great Depression, each year it helps thousands of students who are referred by their schools or other services, providing them with clothing and footwear. But the demands on its services are growing — up by 20% in the past year. Some 84% of secondary schools and 40% of primaries referred students, and SSR processed a record 10,463 applications for help.
Now State Schools' Relief needs your help. AEU members in schools can support the agency through payroll giving. Or you can encourage your school to donate or hold a fundraiser. Watch the video below to find out more about the fund and its work.
