Application for rule changes
Fair Work Australia has approved an application made by the AEU Victorian branch in September 2011 for a change of branch rules in relation to CRT members and sub-branch and regional funding.
The changes:
- Assign casual relief teacher members to the AEU region in which they live, for the purposes of standing for election to council.
- End AEU funding to clusters and sector councils.
- Allow AEU sub-branch or regional funds to be held in an account of the AEU Victorian Branch.
- Give the branch greater flexibility to amend guidelines for sub-branch and region spending.
The proposed changes were approved unanimously by AEU Branch Conference on August 6, 2011, and approved by FWA in a letter dated September 22.
