Meet the principals
Meet the Principals is an annual series of events held across the state in September each year to allow final year student teachers to meet serving primary and secondary school principals.
A panel of principals talk about what they look for in a graduate teacher. You will have the opportunity to ask questions on topics ranging from the application and interview process to school operation. The meeting breaks into small groups to allow you to talk directly to principals and get a keen insight into the recruitment process.
This is a unique opportunity to speak informally to principals from your region.
Separate Meet the Principals nights for primary and secondary are held for metro members at the AEU office in Abbotsford. Sessions will also take place in Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Traralgon, covering both primary and secondary sectors.
These are members' only meetings for student teachers, but students can join the union on the night — and remember student membership is free. All events run from 4.30 to 6.00pm.
