Elections for AEU leadership officers and councillors take place every three years. The 2009 election was conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission and the results declared on October 30.
There was no contest in the early childhood sector; serving vice president Shayne Quinn and deputy vice president Martel Menz were returned unopposed.
In the TAFE and adult provision (TAP) sector, Jo Fogarty was elected vice president and Mark Hyde elected deputy vice president in uncontested elections.
Branch council seats are also contested every three years at the same time. The results can be found in the declaration below.
An election of ordinary members of branch council for seats on branch executive was held on December 4. The results can be downloaded below.
