Student members
The AEU is the union for instructors, business services officers, employment officers, program managers and CEOs who work in the disability sector in Victoria. The AEU can arrange visits to universities, TAFEs and RTOs and also hosts a number of forums where disability students can participate in a range of activities at the AEU.
Free membership
The AEU offers disability students and pre-employment disability graduates free membership. To take out your free membership, email melbourne@aeuvic.asn.au.
Advice and support
Membership gives you professional support, industrial advice, legal protection during work placements, library access and eligibility to join the Teachers Health Fund.
AEU officers can arrange visits to talk to students about the role of the union. They also deliver course lectures on matters such as legal liability, occupational health and safety and other issues of relevance to the sector.

Professional development
Our partner, the Teacher Learning Network (TLN) runs workshops on effective workplace communication, challenging behaviours in older/adult students, developing resilience and many other topics. Details on the TLN website.
