School Services Officer Agreement 2008
After months of negotiations, the AEU has made an agreement in principle for SSOs with the Education Department. It has now been put to SSOs for ratification. Find out more about the proposed agreement in this section.

Working with Children Checks for SSOs
From January 1, 2008, all SSOs are required to pass a Working With Children Check. While the AEU supports the check as a child protection measure, we have campaigned against the Education Department's decision to make SSOs pay the $72 charge.

School Start Bonus
SSOs are required to administer the new School Start Bonus for parents of children starting primary and secondary school. The AEU has campaigned for action to relieve the extra workload this entails.
