Professional Development for Education Support members The AEU runs a wide range of training and professional development courses for ES members, covering professional and industrial issues. For a members' view of some of these courses, read these testimonials. Our statewide program of conferences also offers great PD opportunities. ES Active trainingThe AEU has tailored its two-day AEU Active course especially for ES members. These courses cover everything you need to know about your working conditions and how to deal with issues in your workplace and effect positive change. The AEU meets the cost of your replacement. The courses cover issues including the key to good consultation arrangements in your school, knowing your entitlements, how school processes work and knowing when and where to ask the right questions. We've had lots of good feedback from these courses. Dates will be advertised here as they become available. For those who can't spare the time, the AEU also offers one day training courses for teachers and ES members on specific topics. Dates will be advertised here as they become available. You can find the full calendar of ES training, PD and conferences for 2010 here. More details can be found in our AEU membership training section, or email Rhonda Webley. PD workshops tailored to your needsAEU training officers visit schools to run a selection of tailored workshops for teachers and ES staff on issues including: legal liability; occupational health & safety; change management; knowing your agreement; effective consultation; ED classification; and interview & application skills.
