Elimination of Sexism Committee

The Women's Program is guided and supported by a committee of women members and all women members are invited.

2006 marked the 30th anniversary of the teacher union's Elimination of Sexism Committee. This Committee, and the women educators involved, have worked to get the best conditions in Australia for women educators.

    The Elimination of Sexism (EOS) Committee has a proud history of member involvement in guiding the work of the union in the area of women and girls in education. All members are eligible (and encouraged) to attend the Committee meetings.

    The Committee deals with issues such as:

    • Women and girls in education policy
    • Recommendations for flexible work options
    • Dealing with the "backlash" against women teachers and
    • Initiatives for girls in education
    • Women in promotion issues
    • Sexual harassment training

    Meetings are friendly and food and drinks are provided. EOS Business Meetings are held in the ground floor meeting rooms at the AEU building, 112 Trenerry Crescent, Abbotsford, on Tuesdays commencing at 5.30pm.
