New educators & students
A space for new teachers, student teachers and graduate members to get involved in AEU activities and campaigns, receive support, advice and professional development in your new career, and share your experiences and ideas.
Women's program
From paid parental leave to women in leadership, the AEU has led the way in advances for women in the workplace. Find out more about our campaigns for women's rights, our training and development program for women members, and our vibrant network for women educators.
Events and resources for women
Pride network
The Pride network is for members who identify as same-sex attracted, intersex, or gender-diverse. We hold networking forums and opportunities to learn about diversity and inclusion.
Professional network
Professional issues are central to the everyday work of all our members - that's why the AEU is the peak body for representing members' professional interests. Our professional network gives members access to our flagship research publication, Professional Voice, as well as dedicated eNews for PD and curriculum co-ordinators. The AEU also has an Education Committee which is a key union forum to consider and address the range of professional, pedagogical and curriculum issues relevant to members working in the schools sector.
Health & Safety Reps
Health and Safety Representatives play a vital role in promoting and protecting safe work practices. The AEU supports HSRs in this role.
HSR network meetings are held live and on-line and are a great opportunity for you to share your ideas, issues and challenges. They cover a wide range of hazards from workplace amenities and temperatures, equipment, occupational violence, OHS representation and consultation.
We encourage attendance in person, wherever possible, to enhance networking opportunities. Light refreshments are provided.
