Event Information

Note: Registration preference will be given to members working in schools in, or nearby the Geelong region.

What is the Long Term Plan (LTP) and why is it important? What does it have to do with the AEU sub-branch and how does it connect to the consultation committee?

The LTP is a document given by the principal to all staff by the last Friday in November and outlines how the VGSA will be implemented within your school context in 2026.

This practical workshop will debunk the Long Term Plan, explain what it should contain and help you to understand what it might look like in your school as well as the role of the principal, sub-branch and consultation committee.

This course will be beneficial for all members of the Consultation Committee and sub-branch executive. We encourage principals to attend with their AEU reps.

Schools' members have access to trade union training leave which allows teachers and ES to attend up to 5 days of union training in any one year (or 10 days over 2 years).

The AEU also offers to reimburse teacher/ES replacement costs where your workplace has employed a replacement (Casual Relief Teacher, Educator or ES casual) for you for the training period. In addition to registering for the AEU training here, you will also need to undertake your workplace's internal professional development approval process.
