Event Information

In schools, there are students who are not formally diagnosed with learning differences but are not thriving. This one-day intensive workshop covers the brain systems that relate these issues and provide activities for helping students overcome difficulties in the inputs, processing and outputs of 8 main brain systems.

Neurodevelopmental differentiation (NDD) involves teachers helping students to increase the effectiveness of each of their brain system areas and finding ways to have students succeed by compensating for areas that are taking longer to develop. This may require teachers to make small but significant changes to their teaching practices.  For example, using flexible groupings or giving visual prompts to students who struggle to follow verbal instructions. It also involves teaching students about their brains and how they learn so they can use their strengths to overcome obstacles to learning. Catering for these differences is what is called "neurodevelopmental differenction (NDD)."
