In 2025 the AEU is providing a one-day Reps Training course for AEU TAFE Sub-Branch executive members.

This training provides a fantastic opportunity to meet other AEU TAFE reps, explore key entitlements in the new Agreement and discuss how best to ensure it's implementation. It is designed to support AEU TAFE reps to feel confident about growing and supporting their sub-branch.

TAFE members have access to trade union training leave (clause 49) which allows teachers to attend up to five days of union training in any one year (or 10 days over two years).

The AEU also offers teacher replacement costs where your workplace has employed a replacement for you for the training period. In addition to registering for the AEU training, you will also need to undertake your workplace's internal professional development approval process. Please let the training team know if you need a letter for your institute outlining the date, time, location, duration and content or purpose of the activity for your internal approval process.
