Superannuation & retirement

The AEU's financial services advice panel helps members with financial planning, in particular ‘transition to retirement’ and life in retirement.

Panel members include the Emergency Services and State Superannuation Fund (ESSSuper) and VicSuper, who have provided undertakings to the AEU regarding service delivery and costs.

ESSSuper

Would you like to speak to someone about your super? ESSSuper’s expert Superannuation Consultants can give you general advice about the ESSSuper products and options available to you over the phone, in a video call, or in person.

They can make preparing for your future easier by:

  • Helping you understand your benefit.
  • Explaining your resignation and retirement options.
  • Discussing ways you and your partner can boost your super savings.
  • Providing more information about our products.
  • Running webinars which cover a wide range of super-related topics.

Contact ESSSuper today to discuss your circumstances and decide if you need an appointment.

Aware Super  super helpful!

As one of Australia’s largest profit-for-members superannuation funds, Aware Super always remember whose money it is and whose future they are looking after. Their 1.1m+ members are the people who inspire what they do and how they do it, every day.

Super advice for right now

And more for their future. Need help?

AEU superannuation seminars

ESSSuper and Aware Super conduct regular seminars for members at the AEU Victoria Abbotsford office and throughout regional Victoria.

These seminars are general in nature and provide broad-based information. Members are encouraged to arrange individual appointments for detailed advice in relation their own financial and lifestyle needs.

Appointments can be arranged at their respective business addresses or at the AEU Victoria, Abbotsford office.

As a member, super advice you receive from Aware Super is usually at no extra charge to you. However, fees are payable for certain types of personal advice, our comprehensive advice service and for non-members. Once your financial planner understands your requirements, any fee that may apply will be clearly explained to you. That way you can decide if you wish to proceed.

ESSSuper cares about you and your future, and we are here to offer financial planning services. Our qualified Financial Advisers not only understand the unique complexities of your ESSSuper funds, but are also able to advise on more than just your super. For general advice or information, you can always talk to one of our Member Education Consultants. But for those times where you need that little bit extra, our Financial Advisers are here for you.

Both organisations have a dedicated team of financial advisers who provide specialist advice for AEU members on a transparent, ‘fee-for-service basis’.

They do not receive commissions, volume bonuses or percentage-based adviser service fees from investments, including superannuation funds – payments which are usually hidden from view – which erode investment value, often with little or no service provision.
